Carsten Smidt, Ph.D., is the Chief Science Officer for Shaklee Corporation. Dr. Smidt obtained his Doctorate in Nutrition Science and Physiological Chemistry from the University of California at Davis, 1990.  He has worked in the dietary supplement and medical foods industry for 17 years, including four years at the Mead Johnson Nutritional Group, Bristol Myers-Squibb Company (developed Boost® energy drink).
